Cut-down of face-to-face contacts between tax authorities and the public will certainly persist until December 31, 2020, incl. reduction of counter service hours for cash payments (No. 969)

Even the liberalization of government measures related to COVID-19 did not expand the accessibility of the offices of the Financial Administration of the Czech Republic. As before, the operation of registries at tax offices is limited to Mondays and Wednesdays, from 08:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m., at least until the end of 2020. Offices working in the so-called “optimized 2+2 mode” (2 staff members, 2 days a week) are fully closed. You will find an overview of these regional offices on the Financial Administration website. Still, reduction of personal meetings is recommended. An electronic form of communication should be preferred for communication with the tax administrator.

It is possible to pay taxes in cash in the cash offices of tax authorities to a limited extent, on office days (see above), but for the last time on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in this year; in 2021, you can pay them for the first time on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. It is still possible, of course, to pay taxes by bank transfer or postal order without any restrictions.
